In het kader van het afronden van mijn opleiding European Studies ben ik bezig met het kiezen van een scriptieonderwerp. Mijn interessegebieden zijn mensenrechten, internationaal humanitair recht en internationaal strafrecht.
Ik twijfel nu tussen 2 'grote' onderwerpen:
Mensenrechten(schendingen) in Nederland m.b.t. asielbeleid
Het Internationaal Strafhof (De kritische kant hierin wellicht, denk aan de Sudans of Libie en het ICC)
Nu is het een kwestie van het onderwerp veel kleiner maken, en hier loop ik zwaar vast. Is er iemand die suggesties heeft? Of misschien een idee heeft voor een totaal ander onderwerp? Mijn dank is groot!

The Special Court for Sierra Leone?
Een documentaire die een interessant inzicht verschaft is "War Don Don".

This film in no way attempts to minimize the atrocities of the Sierra Leone conflict, nor does it try to apologize for the individuals on trial. However, War Don Don does give a unique look at all sides, from the international justice system, to the accused, and to the victims, revealing the human complications and widely diverse responses and consequences of the acts on trial.
War Don Don is highly recommended. It is appropriate general and educational viewing related to crimes against humanity, civil war, international judicial processes, and the complexity of multi-cultural perspectives.

Er zit een hele hoop inspiratie voor verschillende onderwerpen in die documentaire.

Onwijs bedankt voor je reactie. The special court for Sierra Leone vind ik sowieso interessant (net als andere ad hoc tribunalen overigens) en de documentaire wil ik sowieso snel zien.
Vraag blijft bij mij alleen wat geschikte vraagstellingen kunnen zijn mbt zo'n onderwerp. Uiteindelijk moet mijn scriptie zo'n 30 pagina's lang zijn en moet er echt sprake zijn van feitelijk onderzoek; dus geen oordelen of dat soort zaken.
Nogmaals: moeilijkheid bij mij is het concreet en klein maken. Als iemand hier tips over heeft, heel graag
